Skull and Bones compared to Assassin’s Creed Black Flag by 11 years
Users compare the boardings and storms of the two games. 11 years separate the two games.
Skull and Bones sets sail this Friday in the homes of all players who want to set sail. The first players have compared some elements with other Ubisoft games of the same theme, such as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. Both share the boarding and the feeling of surfing the ocean from wave to wave. With 11 years between them, it would be logical to think that the newer one would look better... but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
As we can see from a comparison made on the social network X (formerly Twitter), the boardings in Skull and Bones are far less spectacular. Melee combat is removed from the equation; to board a ship, all you have to do is insist by throwing harpoons over one of its sides. In Black Flag, on the other hand, you took control of the situation after inflicting enough damage on the enemy.
But the most obvious changes are in the weather effects. The environment is less detailed than in the fourth installment of Assassin’s Creed. The violence of the storms was always palpable. Water would shoot across the floor of the ship, whereas in Skull and Bones you don’t get the same kind of reaction.
At MeriStation we are working on the analysis of the game that we will offer you later. Being a multiplayer title, the experience started at the same moment as the rest of the players. As soon as we have it, you will be the first to know our conclusions about a game that was too late.
It was presented with a video scene as part of E3 2017. Since then, delays and silence have been the keynote of a project that was initially expected in 2019. It finally lands in 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
