Some fans think they’ve spotted a hint of Resident Evil 9 in Capcom’s latest video
Leaks suggest that the new installment will take a different path.

Resident Evil 4 Remake is the latest title in Capcom’s saga, an installment that was released in 2023 and has reached a new milestone. And that is that the Japanese have announced that the video game has sold 10 million copies worldwide. For this reason, they have shared a video... with a hint about Resident Evil 9?
Or so some fans think. At one point in the video, several wooden boards appear with messages such as “Thanks for playing” or “Glory to the players”. The curious thing is that the boards are lined up and form a 9 in Roman numerals, albeit rotated.
Resident Evil 9, a revolution for the saga?
Whether it is a coincidence or not, it is clear that Capcom is already working on the next installment of the saga. Leaks suggest that it will be a title that will redefine the formula, just as Resident Evil 4 and 7 did in their time.
In addition to the remakes of Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4, in 2021, Capcom released Resident Evil Village, a first-person game that follows the guidelines of the seventh installment, although reminiscent of the setting of the fourth main title. A rural village, inhabitants who have succumbed to madness and monstrous and supernatural creatures, of course, subjected to experiments derived from the disaster of the Umbrella Corporation.
Sony Pictures is preparing a new ‘Resident Evil’ movie to be directed by ‘Barbarian’ director Zach Cregger.
