Sega has officially unveiled Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds at Summer Game Fest 2025, confirming a release date of September 25, 2025 alongside a new trailer featuring guest racers like Ichiban Kasuga, Joker, and Steve.

During Summer Game Fest 2025, the latest installment in Sega’s arcade racing franchise was showcased in a brief but exciting trailer.
In this game, players will race across different dimensions, featuring characters from various franchises, including:
- Ichiban Kasuga (Yakuza: Like a Dragon)
- Joker (Persona 5)
- Steve (Minecraft)
Each racer will come with a unique vehicle, adding personalized gameplay mechanics to the experience.
Cross-platform multiplayer and Sega’s racing legacy
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will support cross-platform play, meaning players can compete against friends regardless of their chosen console.
With this entry, Sega aims to continue the legacy of hits like Team Sonic Racing and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, both of which received positive reviews and solid sales.
Release platforms and future updates
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds will launch on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
While a Nintendo Switch 2 version has not been officially confirmed, it is expected—especially given competition from Mario Kart World on the next-gen hardware.
