Sonic X Shadow Generations unleashes its release date with a new trailer full of news
Sonic X Shadow Generations brings back the original game with an all-new Shadow campaign, and more.
During the Summer Game Fest 2024 gala, SEGA has taken the opportunity to break out at full speed with Sonic X Shadows Generations, a remaster of the PS4 and Xbox 360 era title that comes to modern consoles with upgraded graphics and new features. In addition to a new trailer, the release date is already known: it will hit the market on October 25 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
Like the 2011 delivery, both modern and ancient Sonic join forces to close the temporal gap that threatens to destroy the world.
These are the new features of Sonic X Shadow Generations
The new thing about the hedgehog, which was announced in the State of Play starting in early 2024, is a revamping of the 2D and 3D phases of the original game, as well as the inclusion of modernized graphics and additional content. The most interesting thing is that the developers have created a whole new adventure, which can be played with Shadow the Hedgehog. They promise an unprecedented story campaign and unique powers.
Shadow’s nemesis, Black Doom, reappears with the goal of conquering the world once and for all. In this situation, the protagonist will have to travel back in time and search his own past, where distressing memories of wounds that have not yet healed await him. Only then can he unleash his powers and save the world from destruction.
SEGA continues betting big on their star mascot. The success of Sonic Frontiers, one of the best 3D titles in the saga, got many followers to re-engage with the lightning platform. Last year it was the turn of Sonic Superstars, a title with a two-dimensional approach and multiplayer, which while well received, was not a breakout hit.
