Sony dropped the web bomb: two Spider-Man movie titles revealed for 2026 & 2027
Sony Pictures announced the names and dates at their CinemaCon presentation this Monday

Great news for Spider-Man fans! Sony Pictures announced updates for their two next movies, which will continue the stories of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker, and Miles Morales’ Spider-Verse saga. The first one is called Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and will swing into theaters on July 31, 2026; while the later, Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse, will hit theaters on June 4, 2027.
Both were announced this Monday at Sony’s presentation at CinemaCon, where some of the cast, producers, and directors were gathered, and Sony later revealed the news through its official social media channels.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day, what we know
The upcoming “Spider-Man 4″ movie is set to begin filming this summer, as announced by director Destin Daniel Cretton in the event. It will continue Peter Parker’s story after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. While plot details remain under wraps, Tom Holland teased in a video message that the film will mark a “fresh start” for the character.
“I know we left you with a massive clip hanger at the end of ’No Way Home,’ so ’Spider Man: Brand New Day’ is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say. That’s all I’ve been allowed to say, and I’m well over the hump of giving away spoilers, so don’t be worried. I’m not going to do that today,” the actor said in the video.
Zendaya and Jacob Batalon are expected to take their roles as MJ and Ned, and Sadie Sink has joined the cast, possibly as X-Men’s Jean Grey, though this hasn’t been confirmed. Cretton emphasized the creative team’s dedication to delivering a unique, emotional, and visually stunning experience for fans.
The Spider-Man franchise has been a box office powerhouse, with the three previous films grossing over $3.9 billion globally. Theater owners are eagerly anticipating the return of Peter Parker, and the filmmakers are promising a spectacular continuation of the beloved superhero’s journey.
And what about Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse?
The third installment in its animated Oscar-winner Spider-Verse trilogy will follow Miles Morales as a fugitive pursued by other Spider-People in the multiverse. A first-look teaser shown at CinemaCon featured Miles asserting his independence and showcased the franchise’s signature bold animation style. Gwen Stacy and other Spider-Man allies also made appearances in the footage.
Producer Phil Lord, along with co-directors Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson, revealed the release date and teased the movie, emphasizing their commitment to delivering a fitting conclusion to the beloved series. Lord described the film as a “massive finale” to Miles Morales’ multiverse adventures.
“We are prepping this movie especially for your large format screens,” said Phil Lord. “It looks insane.”
