Star Wars: Ahsoka confirms release date with spectacular trailer
The Mandalorian spinoff series on Disney+ is right around the corner, and its new trailer is aiming for fans’ hearts.
Star Wars Celebration leaves big news for Star Wars fans. One of them is the premiere date confirmation of Star Wars: Ahsoka, the spin-off series of The Mandalorian starring Ahsoka Tano, a very popular character that we first met in Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Star Wars: Ahsoka will premiere this coming August on Disney+ and will see the return of Rosario Dawson as the titular character, as we saw here in The Mandalorian. Also in the cast, we will see Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Rebel pilot Hera Syndula. While we knew the show was coming in 2023, we didn’t expect it to be this soon. To celebrate the news, the platform has released a new and intense 2-minute trailer with plenty of old acquaintances and the usual epic action scenes of the saga. You can check it out below.
Along with the trailer, Disney+ also released a teaser poster for the series, where we can see Ahsoka up close, along with the aforementioned release date. During the presentation, Dawson mentioned that “if this does well, maybe we’ll get a second season. It’s up to you all. I’m ready if you are.”
Who is Ahsoka Tano?
Ahsoka Tano was the Padawan of Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi of the Togruta species who left the Order after being falsely accused of murder. She survived Order 66 and later discovered the fate of her master, now turned Vader. Along with Grand Admiral Thrawn and Tarkin, these villains served as Emperor Palpatine’s right-hand men. Many of these stories are explored in Star Wars: Rebels, the animated series you should watch before enjoying Star Wars: Ahsoka.
2023 is also the year of Star Wars in video games
Fans of the saga will enjoy this year not only in front of the screen, but also with the controller in their hands, because this month, on April 28, the anticipated Star Wars Jedi: Survivor arrives on PC, PS5 and Xbox X Series X|S.
