‘Star Wars: Mandalorian’ is a new game by the Star Wars Jedi developers, according to an insider
An insider claims that we’ll soon see a new game set in the Star Wars universe viewed from the inside the helmet of an unknown Mandalorian bounty hunter.
It seems like plans are clear within the Respawn Entertainment offices. According to the information shared by Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming, the studio behind Apex Legends, Titanfall, and Star Wars Jedi is working on a new ‘Star Wars’ game, which will be the story of a Mandalorian bounty hunter whose identity has not yet been revealed.
First details of Star Wars: Mandalorian
Allegedly, the game is currently in the “early phases of development”, so it’s not expected for at least two years, but Henderson already points out the chosen context: the era when the Empire dominated the galaxy. Similar to the Star Wars: Outlaws plot, the game from Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft, as a bounty hunter we will have to capture each target “dead or alive” in order to receive a financial reward.
His sources indicate that the game will focus on highlighting the character’s mobility, and that will be achieved thanks to the gadgets that accompany each Mandalorian. The rocket pack, for example, which “allows the player to perform horizontal dashing, vertical jumping, boost sliding, and more.” Those who have seen it describe it as “very fast-paced” and the more you play in that style, the more bonuses you will receive. He puts an example on the table: when you chain several consecutive kills you will regenerate health.
This would not be another open-world game. The levels will be linear and will span “a variety of different planets in the Star Wars universe”. Among the tools that will be found in the game are “a wrist rocket, grapple hook, a visor for tagging enemies and bounties, and more.”
The leak suggests that this project is a first-person shooter which they confirmed in January 2022. A year later several job offers appeared in which new data was revealed, such as that it would use Unreal Engine 5 as a graphics engine and would be inspired by classics such as Dark Forces and Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2.
