‘Star Wars’ returns to Fortnite in style next May
Fortnite will host another year of a Star Wars themed event with new outfits, the return of classic weapons, and many more surprises.
The ‘Star Wars’ franchise will not miss its annual date in Fortnite to celebrate Star Wars Day next year on May 4, 2024. The popular franchise, currently owned by Disney, will return in style to Epic Games’ video game and all its variants available since December 2023: LEGO Fortnite, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing.
Confirmed: ‘Star Wars’ returns to celebrate Star Wars Day in Fortnite
‘Star Wars’ is one of the collaborations with the highest number of cosmetic items in Fortnite, after Marvel and DC. There are many outfits of iconic characters such as Luke Skywalker, Leia Organa and Han Solo or the evil Darth Vader. Disney wants to continue to take advantage of the brand’s appeal, so it was announced half a month earlier that the ‘Star Wars’ franchise will return to Fortnite to celebrate May 4, 2024, Star Wars Day with the pun “May the 4th be with you.”
According to the teaser posted on the official “Star Wars” account on X, the celebration in Fortnite will take place starting on May 3, 2024, one day before Star Wars Day. Although it has not been detailed what new content there will be in total, there are already hints of some of the new features of this collaborative event, such as the arrival of the Star Wars Theme - Cantina Band to the Fortnite Festival music game mode.
Nothing is known about exclusive ‘Star Wars’ content for Rocket Racing, but LEGO Fortnite has been speculating that new themed kits could be coming, and it seems the official account has let it slip.
In 2023, the franchise came to Fortnite with the Find the Force event, which consisted of a paid mini-battle pass that allowed players to get new outfits from the saga, such as the Clone Trooper or Darth Maul, and new outfits of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala also arrived in the store.
On the playable side, the lightsabers and other weapons characteristic of the “Star Wars” saga, such as the DC-15A blaster rifle, were reintroduced to Fortnite. In short, in the ‘Star Wars’ event to be held in Fortnite in 2024, we could expect all of this: the arrival of new outfits from the saga in the store and the return of those already available, a new mini-battle pass that will allow us to complete missions to obtain exclusive rewards, and the return of ‘Star Wars’ weapons.
This event would also last about two weeks, during which time different mission sets would be released, both to gain experience and to advance in the rewards of the Mini-Battle Pass. So far, we know nothing more, but based on precedent, we would expect all of the above.
