Bethesda

Starfield in depth: these are the key elements of the game

The Starfield Direct unpacks the key points of the long-awaited video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios, the creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Update:
Starfield

Bethesda had promised in-depth information, which they gave us in the Starfield Direct. The developer has unpacked all aspects of the game in extensive gameplay and commentary, covering everything from character creation to combat, exploration or construction. Below we summarize some of the keys that were revealed about the game, although we recommend that you watch the video below.

Starfield at a glance

Players will be able to enjoy the title in both first and third person. The studio has explained that they designed the world taking into account many aspects, including the distance of the planets from the suns. They worked with NASA itself to make the title believable and to design indigenous creatures for the different planets. In each scenario, you can explore, collect resources, analyze animals, get rewards, complete missions, or fight armed with guns, jetpacks, etc.

It is possible to build outposts on almost any planet. The tool allows you to customize the place to your liking. After all, it has to be a livable and comfortable area. The cockpit has a very retro and analog style, something the team was very conscious of.

The developers presented the character creation system and promised a complete tool capable of creating any character we find in the world. We will be able to choose the class and traits that will define our protagonist, as well as other additional aspects. As important as the hero is the ship, his home and that of the people who follow him. We can make aesthetic changes, but also install new modules that add additional functionality. Of course, the ship is the vehicle we use to get from system to system, but you need to upgrade it to reach the most distant planets.

The star map shows the planets with missions and data for each system. Fast travel is available if you have previously unlocked it.

Starfield will be released on September 6th for Xbox X, Xbox S and PC. From what we’ve seen of the combat, everything seems to indicate that the game has improved a lot in terms of stability. If you’d like to know more about the story, check out the Xbox Games Showcase trailer:
