Starfield: Shatter Space will be the game’s first “major expansion”, to release in 2024

Bethesda is preparing for a 2024 full with upgrades and fixes for Starfield, their new space-faring IP that didn’t quite stick the landing this year but still was hugely successful

Update:
Starfield

The first expansion for Starfield, the space game from Bethesda Game Studios, is continuing its development at a good pace. Shattered Space will light up the sky sometime in 2024, as reported by the studio in a special publication, where it also has taken stock of what the launch of the game was like for the team. Although they do not provide details, they have defined it as a “major expansion” full of content:

“The team is hard at work on the development of Shattered Space, our first major expansion coming next year. You’ll have new story content, new locations, new gear, and much more. We can’t wait to share more with you next year.”

Starfield will now be updated every six weeks or so, starting in February. Quality of life improvements, adjustments, new features, and content will be implemented. “We’ll be adding new ways to travel and you’ll now be able to access city maps while exploring the major cities. For those of you who love ship building, we’ll also be expanding on ship customization with ship decorations, new ship building options, and more.,” they said.

More options for Starfield

As for Gameplay options, they promise that several parameters will be adjustable to make the experience “easier or more challenging”, instead of offering a simple difficulty choice. “you’ll be able to alter your gameplay to allow for an easier or more challenging experience that will expand beyond our normal “Difficulty” setting. These will allow you to easily customize carry capacity, cargo access distance, ship damage, vendor credits, how you suffer afflictions, new survival mechanics, and more.”

Starfield is available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, PC, and Game Pass. Bethesda has celebrated that there are already more than 13 million players who have joined Constellation, among other fun facts about the players.
