Starfield: This is what happens if you put 10,000 sandwiches on top of your ship
Bethesda’s sci-fi RPG has a spectacular physics system, and some players are putting it to the test to try and find its limits.
Starfield has only been officially available for a few days on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Xbox Game Pass and as the hours go by, more players join the space journey of Bethesda’s new RPG. Not so surprising, since it is the newest big title by the creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim —and of the future TES VI— and Fallout 3, among other highly acclaimed titles.
Many things can be said about Starfield, but if there is one thing that does not leave space for debate, it’s that its physics system is impressive, something that is generating numerous memes and ingenious experiments by the community.
One player placed 10,000 sandwiches (we don’t know how he got them) on their ship in New Atlantis and took off to see what happened to them. The collapse of the game on a technical level at that moment is so severe it drops to 4 FPS and barely manages to move. But let’s get to the most interesting thing: what happens when you take off? The sandwiches fall from the sky and the city ends up full of them! Here is the full video.
Is Starfield well-optimized for PCs?
Starfield’s PC optimization has been the subject of much discussion, to the point that some have questioned it. In fact, when a Bloomberg reporter asked Howard about the apparent lack of optimization, the creative was blunt: “Um, we did. It is running great. It is a next-gen PC game, we really do push the technology, so you may need to upgrade your PC for this game. But it’s got a lot of great stuff in it, and the fans are responding awesome.
