Xbox Game Pass

Steam’s most wishlisted indie game will be available to play on Xbox Game Pass

Manor Lords will have its Early Access launch very soon, and it’ll also be available for all Game Pass subscribers from day one.

Update:
Manor Lords

Anyone who is asked what the most desired game is on Steam could answer Silksong, Hades 2, or STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, but they’d be wrong, as this honor falls to a strategy game of construction and management of medieval cities. We’re talking about Manor Lords, which has risen to first place on the list that includes the games that users have placed on their wish list, and which surpasses those titans, in addition to the Chinese ARPG Black Myth: Wukong.

Manor Lords is a game that is not developed by a small studio like Supergiant Games (Hades 2) or Team Cherry (Silksong), but directly by a single person, and that is under the pseudonym of Slavic Magic (Greg Styczeń), the sole developer of the game. Styczeń managed to raise the necessary financing to carry it out through Patreon, with the game being published by Hooded Horse, a company specialized in the genre that has previously released small strategy games such as Against The Storm, Terra Invicta and Nova Roma.

“Manor Lords is a strategy game that allows you to experience the life of a medieval lord,” explains the official description of the game on the Valve platform. “Grow your starting village into a bustling city, manage resources and production chains, and expand your lands through conquest. Inspired by the art and architecture of late 14th century Franconia, Manor Lords prioritizes historical accuracy wherever possible, using it to inform gameplay mechanics and visuals alike. Common medieval tropes are avoided in favor of historical accuracy, in order to make the world feel more authentic, colorful, and believable.

Manor Lords was revealed back in 2020 when in the middle of the pandemic it appeared among the hundreds of demos that Steam launched on its Steam Next Fest, the now common event in which small projects are made known thanks to the launch of demos. Regardless of whether it can be purchased on Steam from the 26th of April, which is when its Early Access version will officially arrive, it will also be possible to enjoy it through Xbox Game Pass, since the game will be available on the Microsoft subscription service since its first day on the market.
