Street Fighter 6 is adding four DLC characters in its first year

Capcom revealed during their recent Street Fighter 6 showcase that there are more fighters coming to the game post-launch, and even showed off 4 of them.

It’s not out yet, but we already know some of the fighters who won’t be competing since day 1 in Street Fighter 6. As a long-haul title, the new installment of the Capcom fighting franchise will expand over the coming months and years, a strategy that at this point does not surprise anyone. During the Street Fighter Showcase, the Japanese company confirmed that the game will add four paid characters in its first year.

All these characters will be available to those who buy the season pass, although they can also be purchased individually. The initial roster of 18 fighters will be expanded therefore with four additional contenders, who will also appear in World Tour, the campaign mode of the video game. Who are the next additions?

These are the 4 new characters and their estimated arrival date

  • Rashid: debuted in Street Fighter V and will return very soon in the sixth installment. As reported by Capcom, his arrival is dated for the summer of 2023.
  • A.K.I: all the titles in the saga recover characters from other chapters, but the roster is reinforced with new fighters, as in the case of A.K.I. This enigmatic warrior will not make an appearance until autumn 2023.
  • Ed: the young commander who first appeared in Street Fighter V has confirmed his return for Street Fighter 6. When? In early winter 2023.
  • Akuma: The classic villain of the series is not among the 18 chosen to start, but he will not miss the fight, despite the fact that he will do so a little later, in the spring of 2024.

Street Fighter 6, will be released on June 2 in PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC, There’s already a demo on PlayStation consoles. Players on other platforms will be able to try it from April 26 onwards.
