Update:

‘Rambo’ is one of the most iconic action movie franchises of all time. The saga starring Sylvester Stallone is beloved among fans of the most savage action, which is why the announcement of a prequel without his participation—and starring Noah Centineo—was met with mixed reviews. However, the status of the project has changed once again: Stallone will finally participate... although not as an actor, but as an executive producer.

The prequel to ‘Rambo’ will feature Sylvester Stallone as executive producer of the project.

Stallone himself broke the news in a short vertical video posted on the film’s X account (@JohnRamboFilm). “Hello everyone, it’s Sylvester Stallone, here. As you know, ‘Rambo’ has been a huge part of my life, of my career, but there’s more on the story. There’s the prequel, the beginning, and that’s what is coming your way. I will serve as the executive producer on this beautiful story. I couldn’t be more excited for the action to come very soon. Thank you very much, see you in the theaters,” the actor said.

In this way, Stallone confirms his participation in the film. Although fans expected him to play the current version of John Rambo, he will ultimately not have a role, but will instead serve as executive producer: a strategic and financial oversight figure whose job is to monitor overall development, support the project at the industrial level, or represent it to studios.

As for the film itself—titled ‘John Rambo’—it will serve as a prequel focusing on the character’s youth during the Vietnam War, placing it before the events of ‘First Blood’ (1982), which until now had been the first chapter. The lead role will be played by Noah Centineo (Black Adam, Street Fighter), who will portray a young version of John Rambo.
