Taiwan warns: Nvidia GPU prices will rise “about 20% to 30%,” very soon

The tech industry has shown no signs of cooling off so far in 2026. The cost of memory—which is rising due to heavy global investment in artificial intelligence—is forcing manufacturers around the world to raise their prices dramatically. Nvidia appears to be the next company to raise prices for certain models in its RTX GPU lineup for the remainder of 2026.

If you want an Nvidia GPU, make the move before prices go up again

According to Taiwan’s Economic Daily News, South Korean companies plan to raise the price of their graphics cards “about 20% to 30%,” compared to current prices. What does this mean? It means that PC builders are raising the price of Nvidia GPU models because they’re paying more for components than they did before.

For the average user—the customer looking to upgrade their computer—this means facing a higher-than-usual price once current inventory is completely sold out. If confirmed, this would be the third price increase we’ve seen in 2026 focused on GPUs. So far, Nvidia has not commented through any of its official channels.

Current prices aren’t exactly cheap. At top-tier retailers, models like the 16 GB RTX 5080 OC are available for just over $1249. An RTX 5090 costs over $4,300. Looking further, the RTX 5070 is starting to break the $700 barrier, even with 12 GB of VRAM. It doesn’t look like the situation will improve in the short to medium term.
