The arrival of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem is imminent. The new version of the popular franchise arrives to theaters around the United States on August 2, 2023, and if critics are to be believed it might just sweep all of the awards away from the other big summer releases. Seth Rogen’s film is set to become one of the biggest premieres in an already packed movie season.

Sites like Collider mention that it s “the best of the franchise”, citing the new approach to Raphael, Donatello, Michelangelo, and Leonardo. In Rotten Tomatoes its critic score right now is 97%, with reviews pointing to what makes this reboot of the Turtles Universe being an excellent and elegant work in its animation department, as well as names such as Jackie Chan, John Cena, Paul Rudd and plenty more taking part in the voice acting of the film.

The Ninja Turtles are back in everyones’ radars

Absolutely huge in the ‘80s and ‘90s, and not leaving a single decade without some version of TMNT in the entertainment industry, for the past few years the Ninja Turtles had gone a bit unnoticed due to its experimentation. However, that started to change recently, with Rise of the TMNT becoming a fan favorite after it was completed, and because of games such as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge being released.

The reboot of the Ninja Turtles universe is set to bring hordes of new and old fans alike back into the fray, and the franchise back into the public eye. Will it claim its spot in pop culture as it has done so many times before? We’ll have to wait until we see the movie by ourselves to figure it out.
