The actor behind Master Chief in the ‘Halo’ series thinks his sex scene was “a huge mistake”

‘Halo’, the adaptation of the legendary Microsoft video game saga in the form of a live-action series, returns soon to Paramount+ with its second season after a debut that achieved good results with the audience, although it didn’t quite convince many fans of Master Chief. Now, before the imminent premiere of the new episodes, its lead actor, Pablo Schreiber, has spoken about what he expects from season two, not without criticizing one of the most controversial aspects of the first season: his sex scene as Master Chief.
The ‘Halo’ sex scene was a “big mistake” according to Pablo Schreiber
“The decision to make the connection between Makee and John a romantic connection was a huge mistake. I felt it was a huge mistake at the time and I argued against it and fought against it. But I am who I am. I don’t write the scripts. I only give my opinion. It wasn’t listened to,” recognized the actor about one of the most controversial aspects of the first season of ‘Halo’, with Cortana watching the scene, which for many fans was a direct betrayal of Halo’s legacy as a franchise.
On the other hand, Pablo Schreiber himself has spoken about the potential of this second season compared to the first, ensuring that it will be much stronger in every way as if it were a reset: “There’s no question the second season is far stronger than the first. I will stake my reputation on that. It’s absolutely improved. The art director who came on board, James Foster, is fantastic. He created a visual world that just makes a lot more sense. It’s so beautiful, incredibly cinematic. And the dialogue is better. It’s just a better season, period.”
