The apocalypse arrives in ‘The Boys’: an immortal Homelander stirs up everyone’s fears, but the series shows how to take him down
An episode that also provides a major clue about his weakness.

The sixth episode of ‘The Boys’ has set off all the alarms, and for good reason. Homelander has achieved V1, a twist that completely reshapes the series’ landscape: the main villain is now immortal and possesses an even more devastating power. The episode culminates in a pivotal scene where Soldier Boy shatters Sister Sage’s master plan—she was fully confident that her intellect would be enough, failing to consider that emotions can override any calculation.
Soldier Boy decides to hand over the V1 to his son, completely undermining the efforts of Billy Butcher and the rest of the group. The virus is now completely useless: Homelander is immortal, more powerful than ever, and the only option seems to be to flee. However, the episode leaves a possible opening. Minutes before achieving immortality, we see Soldier Boy use his ability to vaporize the V1 from Bombsight’s body, granting him his wish to become mortal again.

A Gen V character who could be the key to stopping Homelander
Russian experiments gave Soldier Boy a devastating ability: to unleash a burst of concentrated radiation from his chest. This nearly nuclear-level blast burns or vaporizes Compound V directly from the bloodstream of nearby superheroes, making him a potential key to stopping Homelander. The big question is obvious: why would Soldier Boy want to do that after having handed him the V1? There’s a possibility that another character could inherit or replicate this ability, but there’s also an even more interesting alternative.
That alternative is Marie Moreau, the protagonist of ‘Gen V’, the direct spin-off of ‘The Boys’. Although she hasn’t appeared in the current season yet, her role could be crucial in the final showdown.

Marie has the ability to manipulate her own and others’ blood, which opens the door to a possible direct intervention on Homelander’s blood, now altered by V1. A power that has already proven to be extraordinarily dangerous and that could make her the key player in tipping the scales in the series’ final stretch.
