The Boys' Season 4 Doesn't Miss the Super Bowl with a Teaser "Too Patriotic" for TV

A-Train unveils its new drink, Turbo Rush, to accompany snacks during the big game, and ‘The Boys’ features previously unseen scenes shot specifically for the commercial.

The Boys T4

The Super Bowl saw some of the most anticipated trailers of the early stages of 2024, most notably ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, but Wade Wilson wasn’t the only anti-hero to make an appearance at the big game. Vought International - and ‘The Boys’ for that matter - took the opportunity to introduce their ‘heroes’ such as The Deep, Queen Maeve, A-Train and most notably Homelander. However, it is A-Train who will be presenting its new drink, Turbo Rush, to go with nachos and fries while enjoying the 49ers vs. Chiefs game.

In this one-minute teaser, we do not expect to see scenes from the fourth season, which is about to premiere and has already finished filming, but we do see some unseen scenes recorded specifically for this announcement. In addition, we can see the cameo of some characters from “Gen V”, the successful spin-off that premiered on Prime Video last 2023, as Cate and Sam.

What will season 4 of ‘The Boys’ be about?

Gen V’, as we saw at the end of the first - and not the only - season, is not a spin-off, but has a direct connection to the base series, as it is set between the third and fourth season. Therefore, ‘The Boys’ Season 4 will continue what we have seen in the series starring the youngsters, and the virus they discover will play an important role in the plot.

“For Butcher, by the time they were making the finale, we were pretty deep into breaking Season 4,” showrunner Eric Kripke recently told Variety. “We knew that we wanted that virus to be a pretty big part of Season 4, and we knew that we wanted Butcher to be aware of it. It seems crazy that he wouldn’t be aware of it. This idea came up that it probably shouldn’t even happen in ‘The Boys,’ it should happen in ‘Gen V.’”

As for the premiere, at the moment it is completely unknown, although it is expected to be in the first half of this year 2024, as always on Prime Video.
