‘The Boys’ takes everything by storm with the trailer for its final season and confirms its release date

‘The Boys,’ the famous and irreverent superhero series based on the comic book of the same name, will premiere its fifth and final season next year, bringing one of the most successful superhero adaptations of recent times to a close. And we already have a first trailer that you can see below, a teaser that gives us a brief glimpse of what the final episodes of the Prime Video series have in store for us. Expectations couldn’t be higher, as we’ll see the return of iconic characters such as Butcher, Homelander, and Soldier Boy, among others. Best of all, we already have a release date: April 8, 2026.

The final showdown between Butcher and Homelander?

The situation couldn’t be more tense and desperate; while Homelander is completely unleashed, living in his own world of whims and delusions, Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are trapped in Freedom Camp. For her part, Starlight tries to deal with the growing pressure from the Supes; Kimiko is missing, and Butcher, consumed by his own hatred and killer instinct, reappears with the ultimate weapon against the Supers: a virus capable of wiping out all superheroes from the face of the Earth.

The first trailer for the fifth season of ‘The Boys’ has been one of the big draws at Comic Con Experience, which is currently taking place in Brazil. All this took place during a panel discussion attended by Eric Kripke himself, creator of the television adaptation of ‘The Boys’, who presented this first preview alongside some of the series’ main cast: Erin Moriarty, Laz Alonso, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, and Colby Minifie.

“This is the teaser trailer for The Boys Season 5. It’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a ‘Freedom Camp.’ Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen April 8 on Prime,” according to Prime Video’s official description of the trailer.

The premiere of the fifth season of ‘The Boys’ will bring the main series of this unique superhero universe, which has been a huge hit on Amazon, to a close, giving rise to two other spin-offs, ‘Gen-V’ and ‘The Boys: Diabolical.’ The final season of ‘The Boys’ will premiere on Prime Video on April 8, 2026, with its first two episodes, followed by a new episode each week for a total of eight, with the finale scheduled for May 20, 2026.
