The creator of Breaking Bad talks about a sequel with Walt Jr. as a crime boss

Vince Gilligan, showrunner of Breaking Bad, has spoken out about his ideas for some of the characters, hinting at a sequel with Walt Jr.

Update:
Breaking Bad

Before you rant against the idea, two things. The first is that you think about ‘Better Call Saul’. Many people didn’t like it at first and later it became a series as good as the original (maybe even better). And the second, rest assured because the creator of ‘Breaking Bad’ is also not fully interested in seeing Walt Jr. turned into a crime boss. But the fact is that it was he himself who left the idea there.

“It’s fun thinking about what would happen to the characters”, acknowledged Vince Gilligan, the showrunner of ‘Breaking Bad’, in an interview for Variety magazine. “but it doesn’t rise to the level of, “Gee, I’d like to tell more about the story.” Gilligan says he can easily imagine someone selling him the idea of letting Walt Jr. follow in his father’s footsteps and build his own criminal empire, although he also suggests that for now this idea does not appeal too much to him. “I could pretty much guarantee right now that I have no interest in seeing that happen.”

The controversy with ‘Breaking Bad’ during the writers’ strike

The series has been on everyone’s lips in recent days and not exactly for the better. On the one hand, we recently received the news of the death of Mark Margolis, the legendary Héctor Salamanca. On the other hand, we had Aaron Paul pulling the blanket and charging at Netflix for the ‘Breaking Bad’ movie, for he claimed not to have seen a single dollar in royalties. despite its success in streaming.

“I don’t get a piece from Netflix on ‘Breaking Bad’ to be totally honest and that’s insane to me. Shows live forever on these streamers and it goes through waves. I saw just the other day that ‘Breaking Bad’ was trending on Netflix and it’s such common sense. I think a lot of these streamers know that they have been getting away with not paying people a fair wage, and now it’s time to pony up.”

Let’s hope that, now that the writers and actors strike are over, things are fairer. And let’s also hope not to hear from Walt Jr. as a new Heisenberg.
