The creator of God of War is angry at the direction Kratos and its latest games have taken
David Jaffe, the original creator of the God of War series, took to the internet to share his displeasure with how the latest games have turned out.
David Jaffe is well known in the video game industry for being the creator of God of War among other notable titles and sagas throughout his career. A figure who has been away from the front page for some time now, but who continues to be an important voice thanks to his legacy and the creation of unforgettable characters and franchises, which are still very relevant today. But does he like the path God of War has taken? Not at all, and he has made it emphatically known on his own YouTube channel.
In Jaffe’s opinion, the latest God of War games have not been faithful to the spirit of the character and the saga. The creator pointed out the fact that perhaps a new IP would have been appropriate if they wanted to show their life experiences in the game, thus showing some of the things that the developers were going through in their lives when they started having children. The new approach to Kratos is compared to Indiana Jones, and what would become of the character if he settled down and dedicated himself to a more family life. A controversial opinion is that even with notable changes, Kratos continues to maintain points in both personality and gameplay that at times bring us closer and remind us of his beginnings.

One of the most emblematic designers of the video game industry in the 128-bit generation. David Jaffe created series that marked his time and are still very relevant today, highlighting Twisted Metal and God of War as the most notable games in which he participated.
Kratos has evolved enormously compared to the character from the first two PlayStation 2 installments, and although Jaffe does not really agree with the form his creation has taken, the reality is that the new direction of the saga has been a huge success with both critics and the public. A different Kratos, but one who is clear about where he comes from and has also shown respect for the legacy of the one who is known as the ghost of Sparta.
