The end has come: Henry Cavill bursts into tears as he says goodbye to Geralt of Rivia
After three seasons as the Grey Wolf in the Netflix series The Witcher, Henry Cavill has given an emotional farewell to the series.
If you’re a fan of The Witcher, you know that Season 3 of the Netflix adaptation series will premiere next June 29. And with that, there’s something that’s causing a lot of sadness among The Witcher fans: the farewell of Henry Cavill as the actor who plays Geralt of Rivia.
The charismatic actor has been in the shoes of the protagonist for two seasons and will do so again in the third, but we will not see him in the fourth, nor in the fifth (both are confirmed). For this reason, Cavill took the opportunity of his presence at the TUDUM Netflix 2023 event to say goodbye to both fans and colleagues, a moment in which he could not help but burst into tears of emotion.
Henry Cavill: “I’m going to miss you very much”
Visibly moved and in front of the entire audience, Cavill said goodbye to everyone, especially the actors and actresses he worked with on The Witcher series on Netflix. “It was such a pleasure and an honor working with you guys. You guys bring so much nuance and detail to these characters which over the risk of oversimplify and what you guys have done with the characters has involved work, care, and effort,” he said (the latter was interpreted by the audience as a message to the show’s creators), before concluding with a heartfelt “I’m going to miss you very much.
The Witcher on Netflix has 2 seasons and the third one arrives on June 29, 2023. You can take a look at the latest clip of the series below these lines, where you can watch Geralt of Rivia fighting alongside Yennefer and Ciri in some abandoned ruins.
