The first trailer for ‘Alien: Romulus’ is terrifying and confirms Ridley Scott’s saga is in good hands
The movie will be released on August 16, 2024, and is set between ‘Alien’ and ‘Aliens’.
‘Alien’ (Ridley Scott, 1979) will always be one of the most acclaimed horror and science fiction films in history. It is a compelling reason for more than a few genre lovers to have high hopes for both Noah Hawley’s Earth-set ‘Alien’ series and ‘Alien: Romulus’, the Fede Alvarez film that just released its first trailer (you can see it right below these lines).
‘Alien: Romulus’ opens on August 16, 2024, and is set in the year 2122, just between the events that took place between the end of the original movie and the beginning of the sequel (‘Aliens’). The video makes it clear that Álvarez has been very respectful of Scott’s legacy, as the terrifying atmosphere and the staging of the xenomorphs are reminiscent of what was seen in the original film.
In what order and where to watch all the ‘Alien’ movies
Between now and the release of Alien: Romulus, there is plenty of time to revisit - or see for the first time - all of the Alien movies. From the 1979 original to ‘Covenant’ (2017). They’re all available on streaming, must of them on Hulu, except for Aliens, which is on MAX, and Alien: Covenant only for rent on Apple TV.
