This week, the first images were released from ‘Heart of the Beast’, the new film starring Brad Pitt, in which he plays a retired special forces soldier who travels to Alaska with his dog. This morning, Paramount Pictures released the first trailer, giving us a deeper look at this epic adventure, in which both veterans will have to fight for survival.

All we know about ‘Heart of the Beast’

The synopsis of the films reads: “After a harrowing plane crash, Special Forces officer James Belmont (Brad Pitt) and his combat dog, Odin, find themselves stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Together, they are forced into a brutal fight for survival against the elements. From acclaimed filmmaker David Ayer, Heart of the Beast is an intense adventure thriller that explores the unbreakable bond between a man and his best friend as they face their greatest battle yet.”

Behind the camera is David Ayer, known for ‘Suicide Squad’ and ‘The Beekeeper,’ who previously worked with Pitt on ‘Fury’. The popular war film, which also starred Jon Bernthal, Shia LaBeouf, and Scott Eastwood, was a major commercial and critical success. The relationship between the protagonist and the dog will be the emotional core of the film. Ayer insists that it is not “a man and his pet,” but rather two survivors who constantly rescue each other. Pitt, in fact, has joked that the dog deserved to be listed first in the credits.
