The Flash’s director reveals a surprising cameo in the movie by a cult classic actor

Andy Muschietti, director of the upcoming DC Studios movie The Flash, has gone ahead and revealed that another hero will appear played by an unexpected actor.

There is no doubt that The Flash is expected to be one of the greatest superhero movies of the year, not only because of the spectacular trailers that have been released already, but also for the cameos that we will be able to enjoy throughout it. These come as a result of Barry Allen’s trips through various universes, which will give us the chance to see Supergirl or the most exciting, Michael Keaton as Batman, the Dark Knight in Tim Burton’s 1989 film. However, most surprising and, in a way, crazy cameo was still to come: Superman will make an appearance with a completely unexpected face behind him.

From now on we will talk about something that could be considered spoilers, so we recommend that you do not continue reading if you want the surprise to be even greater.

The most unexpected Superman

Andy Muschietti, director of The Flash, has revealed who will play Superman in this cameo, and it is entirely nuts:

“Nic was absolutely wonderful. Although the role was a cameo, he dove into it,” Muschietti said, referring to none other than...Nicolas Cage?!. “I dreamt all my life to work with him. I hope I can work with him again soon. He is a massive Superman fan. A comic book fanatic,” Muschetti continued.

This collaboration comes as a result of the canceled Superman Lives, a Man of Steel movie directed by Tim Burton in which Cage would have taken the leading role, and with quite a peculiar appearance to boot. “I would offer that the movie that Tim and I would have made, in your imagination, is more powerful than any of the Superman movies,” Cage said at the time. “I didn’t even have to make the movie and we all know what that movie would have been in your imagination. That is the Superman. That is the movie. Even though you never saw it — it is the Superman.”
