The girl who played the terrifying ghost from The Ring was also a beloved and adorable Disney character
The girl who played Samara Morgan, the western version of The Ring’s Sadako, was also an adorable Disney character beloved by many.
‘The Ring’ and ‘Lilo & Stitch’ are like an egg and a chestnut; They’re the furthest things apart there can be. The first is a legendary horror movie, as it terrified millions of people at the time. It is an adaptation of ‘Ringu’, the 1998 Japanese film ,and everyone remembers it for her villainess: Samara (Sadako), the girl who appeared in a video emerging from a well, to immediately cross the television screen and then... Well, you know what happens next.
The second is one of the most acclaimed Disney films of the 21st century. It seems impossible to find an element present in both tapes, but as it turns out, there is one: Daveigh Chase, the American actress who played Samara Morgan and who also voiced Lilo when she was only 12 years old. Curiously, sometime later she would return to replay both roles, having worked in ‘The Ring 2′, ‘The Rings’, and ‘Leroy & Stitch’.
