The idea that one of the film directors of the moment has for ‘Alien’ is the craziest thing the saga would ever do
The mythical space horror saga in a format that is hard to imagine.
Bong Joon-ho is one of the great filmmakers of today, winner of multiple Oscars with ‘Parasites’ and films as remarkable in his filmography as ‘Memories of murder’, is recognized for his unique and extraordinary way of understanding an industry like film. Now, his new film ‘Mickey 17′ with Robert Pattinson as the protagonist just released, and taking advantage of the moment he granted an interview to Los Angeles Times in which he stated what kind of film he would make if he worked in a saga like ‘Alien’, and the answer leaves no one indifferent.
“I’m not drawn to franchise films,” declared a Bong Joon-ho who makes clear his preference for working with completely original films. After this, the major surprise of highlighting that “at one point that I would like to do an ‘Alien’ film,” he admitted. Then, with his trademark dry wit, he added, “An ‘Alien’ musical.” A completely strange idea that is hard to fit in, and that is completely distant from the space terror of the saga created by Ridley Scott, but that in the hands of the South Korean would be at least a striking idea that would have all the attention of critics and audiences.
