The incredible anecdote of Arthur’s actor in Red Dead Redemption 2 that worried his friends so much that they thought he was unemployed
Between the secrecy of his role and the long development time, Roger Clark’s friends began to worry.

Roger Clark, the actor behind the voice of Arthur Morgan in the acclaimed video game Red Dead Redemption 2, shared an anecdote that reflects the challenges and dedication involved in working on certain projects. During the game’s long development process, which spanned several years, Clark faced a peculiar situation: his friends began to worry and think he was unemployed.
In an interview, Clark explained that the development of Red Dead Redemption 2 was a major project that required years of constant work. “My friends thought I was lying about my work and that I was really unemployed,” Clark commented. The confidential and lengthy nature of the project made it difficult for him to share specific details with friends and family, leading to misunderstandings and concerns.

The actor also stressed the importance of patience and perseverance in the video game industry. “Working on a project like Red Dead Redemption 2 is a privilege, but it also requires a great deal of time and effort. Sometimes, it can feel like you’re doing nothing, but you’re actually contributing to something much bigger,” Clark added.
Clark’s performance as Arthur Morgan was especially noteworthy, and his voice became an integral part of the emotional experience of the game. “Seeing the reaction from the players and knowing that my work had a significant impact is incredibly gratifying,” Clark said. His performance won him the Best Performance Award at The Game Awards held in 2018 and gave a new lease of life to a career that continues to be split between productions for film, television, audiobooks and video games.
