‘The Last of Us’ halts production on Season 3: Is the series in danger of being delayed?
Several reports suggest that, for now, there’s no need to worry too much.

Filming for the third season of ‘The Last of Us’ has been put on hold, but only temporarily. The Los Angeles Times reported this a few minutes ago, explaining that the decision was made due to preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
Initially, local media reported that the series had been canceled by HBO, but they eventually clarified that this was simply a hiatus that the producers had already planned. Over the next few days, the Vancouver area (Canada) will be flooded with thousands upon thousands of fans from different national teams who will be there to cheer on their teams. Therefore, it would be impractical to continue filming under those conditions. Filming will resume once all this commotion is over, and the premiere of the series’ third season is still scheduled for 2027.
