The Legend of Vox Machina renewed for fifth and final season

At San Diego Comic-Con 2025, Prime Video officially announced that The Legend of Vox Machina will return for a fifth and final season, bringing the story of Exandria’s most chaotic heroes to a close. Season 4 is set to premiere in 2026, with Season 5 expected to follow in 2027 or 2028, depending on production timelines.

What’s next for Vox Machina?

Season 4 will scatter the party across the globe following the defeat of the Chroma Conclave. But when a new cataclysmic threat emerges, hinted to be Vecna, the Whispered One, the group must reunite for one last mission. A sneak peek revealed a heist-style plot involving a secret scroll hidden in the Cobalt Archives, setting the stage for high-stakes action and emotional reunions.

Executive producers and Critical Role co-founders Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham emphasized the rarity of telling a complete story in animation:

“We’re so grateful to our fans, the Critters, our partners at Prime Video, and the original Kickstarter backers for bringing this show to life, and turning the numbskulls of Vox Machina into animation legends.”

The show’s conclusion will allow the creators to deliver a fully realized arc, honoring the original tabletop campaign while expanding its reach to millions of viewers.
