The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom puts the spotlight on Zelda and brings creativity and magic to Nintendo Switch
A new installment in the franchise full of creativity and possibilities in 2D.
The time has come for Zelda to finally star in a The Legend of Zelda game. Using the aesthetics of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening, Nintendo presented a new entry in the franchise during this morning’s Nintendo Direct. Link has disappeared, and it is up to Princess Zelda to use her wisdom to save Hyrule and find Link. Creativity and magic are what await us in this 2D title that aims to add a major twist to the franchise.
What is The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom?
Fissures have appeared throughout Hyrule. Many people have disappeared, including Link himself. At this point, Zelda meets the mysterious fairy Tri and receives the Tri Scepter, a mysterious object that she will use to embark on a journey through Hyrule to save her own kingdom. How does the Tri Scepter work? In the presentation, we were shown how to shake it in front of a table and Zelda will create an echo of the same object. If we memorize an echo, we can use it at any time, for example, if a wall blocks our path, we will have the option to create echoes of tables to move forward, giving us a variety of options for our adventure. Wooden crates, old beds, and things as unusual as water blocks. We can use these echoes individually or in combination, so it is important to memorize and create echoes of everything we find in Hyrule.
Creativity to power in The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Battles will be completely different from what we have seen in the Zelda saga, using stones in our favor and against our enemies, which we can use as echoes, thus using the monsters in our favor and fighting them at our side. The monsters have different abilities, so it will be important to use the most convenient depending on the situation.
As the title suggests, wisdom is key in this new installment of The Legend of Zelda, which brings the creativity of the recent 3D entries to the more classic 2D side of the saga. An infinite number of possibilities that we can use to our advantage as we progress through the adventure.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom will arrive later this year, on September 26. A Nintendo Switch Lite with the Hyrule crest will also be launched.
