The Legend of Zelda: Oracles Comes to Nintendo Switch Online

Two sister titles that helped shape the history of GameBoy Color are now available for the Nintendo Switch Online Service.

The Legend of Zelda: Oracles travel from the past to land on Nintendo Switch Online. Two titles in the legendary saga that came to our GameBoy in 2001 and that Nintendo is now recovering for its digital retro catalog. These are two sister titles that will take us on an adventure far from Hyrule, but without losing the spirit of the franchise.

Rise to the challenge, hero!

The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Times are two titles developed by Capcom for Nintendo and released for the GameBoy Color in 2001. The games have a peculiar system, because although you can start with either of them, once you finish the first game we are offered the possibility to continue the story in the sister title thanks to a password. A feature that seemed to try to replicate the Pokemon releases in its own way.

In these titles, we visit Holodrum in the case of Seasons and Labrynna in Ages. Two new lands where Link sets out to rescue the Oracles of Time and Seasons (Nayru and Din, respectively), who have been kidnapped by Veran and Onox, two henchmen of the Birova sisters who want to resurrect Ganondorf. To do so, our mute hero must gather the Essences of Time and Seasons and defeat Ganon’s minions.

A critical success

Both games were enthusiastically received by critics at the time and were considered the best GameBoy Color games ever made. Their puzzles, story, development and gameplay make them two titles we should all experience, and a great way to take advantage of what’s left of the summer. In addition, their linking feature makes these two titles highly replayable, but most of all, enjoyable games. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to enjoy both titles now that they’ve arrived on the Nintendo Switch Online Service.
