The Mandalorian Season 4 production has been hit with a delay

Just because Jon Favreau has already written all the scripts for The Mandalorian season four doesn’t mean there won’t be delays due to the writers’ strike. In fact, production was scheduled for September, but filming won’t start on that date. At least that is what’s been confirmed by Production Weekly, which notes in its list that production of this Star Wars series will not begin until “at least November.”

During the filming of a television series it is very common for changes to be made to the scripts., but without scriptwriters it is at least risky to undertake modifications of this nature. In addition, it is not a secret that in The Mandalorian these types of adjustments are made constantly, depending on the needs of the directors or other creative decisions. The delay would mean a victory for the WGA (Writers Guild of America), the union organizing this strike, which threatens to drag on for many months.

What will happen in The Mandalorian 4?

The end of the third season marks a new beginning for Din Djarin and Grogu, now officially father and son. Following the Battle of Mandalore, the duo settles on Nevarro, the planet ruled by Grand Magistrate Greef Karga. The fate of Moff Gideon does not mean that the Imperial remnants stop waging war. Now, the two Mandalorians will collaborate with the New Republic to persecute and hunt down former imperials.

Throughout this year we will see two other Star Wars spin-offs at Disney+: Ahsoka will be released in august, while Skeleton Crew will debut sometime this year, with no specific date yet. Dave Filoni is also preparing a film that will intertwine all of those stories as a climax, (including The Book of Boba Fett) available on the House of Mouse platform.
