The most anticipated exclusive games for PlayStation 5 of 2024

Fans of PlayStation have a lot of exclusives to look forward to in the next 12 months, as the PS5 is set to get some amazing titles in 2024. Take a look.

Update:
Juegos PS5 2024

2023 may not have been the best year for PlayStation in terms of exclusive releases, counting on Final Fantasy XVI, and above all, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as its main bastions. Beyond both, The Burning Shores, an expansion to Horizon Forbidden West, and Horizon: Call of the Mountain, for PS VR 2, in addition to the big surprise of Humanity. However, the lack of news from other major studios of the PlayStation Studios label, and more disappointments like that of Forspoken, mean that it is probably not going to the biggest year to remember.

However, the sights are higher for 2024, in which most likely Insomniac Games will delight us again with Marvel’s Wolverine, to which we must add Helldivers 2, Rise of the Ronin, and of course, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the long-awaited second installment of the remake of the legendary JRPG. In addition, the launch this coming year of an important candidate for the surprise of 2024, Stellar Blade.

The Last of Us Part II Remastered

  • Naughty Dog
  • Date: January 19

As expected, the rumor was confirmed just a few weeks ago, and the controversial The Last of Us Part II will arrive remastered in the first month of 2024. Not only will we enjoy a technically improved version of one of the great titles of 2020, but it will also arrive with extra content, highlighting the mode No return, a roguelite mode set in various settings of the game and where we can control several of its characters. In addition, it will also include deleted scenes from the original game - which is already long - and whoever has that one will be able to upgrade it to this revamped version for PlayStation 5 for $10 .

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

  • Square Enix
  • Date: February 29

The story of Cloud and company continues with the second installment of this trilogy that, at the same time as serving as a remake of the original, one of the most legendary installments of the saga, also reimagines the story. This time we will go beyond Midgar, and as we expected, we will find a game that is noticeably more open than the one seen in the first installment and that will place much more emphasis on exploration, in which chocobos will play an important role. We will not see many variations in the combat system, since Square Enix has decided not to fix what is not broken, being able to pause the action to select skills or objects, in addition to being able to change characters as best suits us.

Helldivers 2

  • Arrowhead Game Studios
  • Date: February 8

Inheriting the good work of Housemarque and its twin stick shooters, Arrowhead gave us the fun Helldivers. It’s now been 8 years since, but in 2024 they are going to take a very important leap with Helldivers 2, going from a top-down view to a third-person view that will not mean leaving behind the frenetic pace of the first installment. Being much more enjoyable in cooperative, a mode in which up to four players can join together, the Swedish studio has announced a lot of downloadable extras for the special edition of the game.

Rise of the Ronin

  • Team Ninja
  • Date: March 22

After the setback of Ninja Gaiden 3, Team Ninja has been able to reinvent itself by adapting the From Software formula and adding its own hallmarks, giving rise to games like two installments of Nioh and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. However, Rise of the Ronin will be the one that will have the most RPG elements, since the decisions we make and actions we carry out will have a direct impact on the story, the Japanese studio teases that we will face really difficult choices. As it could not be otherwise, combat will play an essential role in the game, and although it will maintain the complexity that was seen in the previously mentioned games, it will also be more accessible to all players.

Silent Hill 2

  • Bloober Team
  • Date to be confirmed

Putting the responsibility of bringing back one of the great horror myths on a studio like Bloober Team may be too much, but if Konami has decided this, it must be for a reason. The creators of worthy, such as Layers of Fear, The Medium, The Observer and Blair Witch, are responsible for remaking the story of Harry Mason, probably one of the most beloved in the saga (or the most). Like Resident Evil has done with its remakes, the Polish studio will opt for an over-the-shoulder camera instead of the fixed one, so typical of the 90s and early 2000s, and in the same way that it is one of the most anticipated games of 2024.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink

  • Cygames
  • Date: February 1

Anime fans are in luck, as the recent release of Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising will be joined in February by a new open-world action-adventure of which we will be able to enjoy a demo already this coming month of January. Those who enter this adventure have to be aware that they will do so in a game full of content, and that is that a whopping 100 secondary missions will be added to its main story... more endgame missions that will only be accessible after finishing it and that hety will be a challenge for the bravest.

Marvel’s Wolverine

  • Insomniac Games
  • Date to be confirmed

Although it is not 100% confirmed, it would be very surprising if Marvel’s Wolverine did not see the light of day in 2024. After demonstrating their know-how in the superhero subgenre with one of the most popular in history, either with the two main installments Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, or with their spin off, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, nothing indicates that Insomniac Games will lower the bar with Wolverine. The bad-tempered mutant will soon be back in the limelight not only thanks to this video game, but also to his appearance in’Deadpool 3′, and surely the most current studio of PlayStation Studios will do its very important grain of sand.

Stellar Blade

  • Shift Up Corporation
  • Date to be confirmed

There shouldn’t be many problems to be able to talk about Stellar Blade as one of the candidates for surprise of 2024, as its frenetic gameplay is especially reminiscent of the best works of Platinum Games, such asMetal Gear Rising, Nier Automata and Bayonetta is making us highly excited. Technically sublime, Stellar Blade puts us in the shoes of Eve (in fact the game was previously known as Project Eve), who will return to Earth to try to recover it, since the rest of humanity has had to flee to a colony in outer space.

Phantom Blade Zero

  • S-Game
  • Date to be confirmed

Sword lovers keep in mind Phantom Blade Zero, being one of the surprise announcements during 2023, and that also wants to be surprising in 2024 when we will be able to play it. It was the protagonist of the PlayStation Showcase in June, and its combination of combat and setting inevitably reminded us, of course, of the influential work by From Software, although here we will enjoy a more thack & slash style of combat. With a main story that will take us between 30 and 40 hours to complete, plus a multitude of secondary and unlockable content after finishing it, it is revealed to be one of the games to take into account for those looking for a great challenge in 2024.

Lost Soul Aside

  • Ultizero Games
  • Date to be confirmed

Although it is taking longer to see the light than expected, one of the projects that PS5 players have their sights set on is Lost Soul Aside, and despite its Triple-A appearance, it is being developed by a single person, Chinese developer Bing Yang, although in recent times he has been provided by PlayStation China with a team to collaborate on the final touches. It is enough to take a look at its most recent trailer to realize that the influence of the latest installments of Final Fantasy is more than evident, and that is precisely what we are going to find: an action JRPG that is one of the most ambitious projects from the country in recent years.

Foamstars

  • Square Enix
  • Date to be confirmed

When we saw it for the first time it was inevitable to remember, of course, Splatoon, but those who have already been able to try it are speaking wonders about this multiplayer game. Square Enix has everything to succeed... on paper. we already know that they have to establish a good business model, and a certain cadence of content... but at the playable level, everything indicates that Foamstars is at the required level. With the use of foam as ammunition, we will have up to 8 selectable characters from the launch of the game, in addition to two different modes: Destroy the Star and Survival Bath. It will be enough? Only time will tell.
