Ryu Ga Gotoku
The new Like a Dragon takes a not-so-subtle jab at this type of eager player
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio uses the usual satire of the Like a Dragon saga to send a direct message to gamers.

Accessibility. The elephant in the room for game developers. In 2025, we have seen hundreds of interpretations of the mythical tutorial, from those integrated into development to those that serve as mere walls of text. We’ve even seen the absurdity of painting the path we can follow in yellow. Resident Evil 4 Remake painting the barrels you can destroy yellow is the height of accessibility. But there is a game that wanted to do it the other way around: to send a message to players to be more responsible with the work they see in every project.
Like a Dragon’s strong message to players
“The state of the world, I swear… Developers sweat and toil for slave wages, all for rich brats to skip the tutorials and talk over cutscenes! Oh, my heart goes out to them!,” Machiko-san explains. We met the character during one of the subplots of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth as the creator of the dating app Miss Match. Her experience of looking at hundreds of user profiles leads her to empathize with the people around her.
The appeal comes at a time when the video game industry is reeling. We recently learned of Warner Bros.' decision to close several studios in its portfolio, including the legendary Monolith. Nearly 30 years of experience with games like F.E.A.R., Middle-earth: Shadows of Mordor, Condemned and Blood, among others. It is clear that messages like RGGS are needed.
