The new trailer for ’28 Years Later’ shows that the apocalypse is more alive than ever
The movie, directed by Danny Boyle, will be released this June.

Nothing is as it was. The United Kingdom has succumbed to catastrophe, and the virus has spread from north to south and east to west, but it has gone no further. As a result, monsters roam free, and the few survivors do their best to continue to see the sunlight each morning. After years of madness, many have regained rudimentary weapons like the bow, but anything goes to fight the bloodthirsty creatures that roam the earth. Sony Pictures has just released a new trailer for ’28 Years Later,’ the third installment in the cult saga. You can check it out below the fold.
So many years after the cataclysm, the virus returns, and the protagonists must survive the horde of infected. Directed by Danny Boyle and written by Alex Garland, the film was shot on an iPhone 15 Pro Max with a host of additional accessories.

What is ’28 Years Later’ about?
The official synopsis reads: “It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected. One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.”
‘28 Years Later’ opens in theaters June 20.
