The ‘One Piece’ remake is getting closer and closer, with its Netflix release date and episode count now confirmed

The series, produced by Wit Studio, is much closer than anyone could have expected.

The One Piece’ remake has confirmed its global premiere on Netflix for February 2027, a date significantly sooner than many had anticipated. This first season will consist of seven episodes with a total runtime of approximately 300 minutes; all episodes will be released simultaneously and will adapt 50 chapters of the manga, covering the story up to the point where Luffy and his crew meet Sanji.

The adaptation, produced by Wit Studio, will cover the East Blue saga up to the Baratie arc, which in the manga spans chapters 42 through 68, thus marking the beginning of that arc. Scheduled to premiere early next year, this release is poised to become one of the most significant anime releases worldwide, bringing together both longtime fans and new viewers who will take this opportunity to dive into the universe created by Eiichiro Oda.

A new venture by Eiichiro Oda and Netflix to expand the reach of ‘One Piece’

Manga, anime, live-action, and now this remake, designed to reach an even wider audience. The reason is clear: the pace and total length of the animated adaptation, which began in 1999 and continues to this day, pose a barrier for many viewers. The new version from Wit Studio is presented as an ideal entry point, and condensing 50 chapters of the manga into roughly 300 minutes makes the narrative approach of this reinterpretation clear.
