The price of the Nintendo Switch 2 has begun to circulate in some stores and is less than we all thought

The first half of 2025 has its own name: Nintendo Switch 2. The console already has a date to be shown in the company after a small presentation that stopped the rumors about its appearance. That Mario Kart will be the grand opening of the console does not seem to surprise anyone, what is surprising is the price that is circulating in some stores.

This is Costco Canada, which is listing a tentative price of $499.99 Canadian dollars, which is about $350 at the exchange rate. It is worth mentioning that this $499 Canadian dollars is an increase of $100 CAD to the original Nintendo Switch, which would mean around an increase of $70 USD on the original price in the United States, placing the console at a price of around $369.

Shuntaro Furukawa, president of the publisher, has made it clear that the price of Nintendo Switch 2 will take into account the “affordable prices that customers expect from Nintendo products.” The executive was speaking at the end of the third quarter of the current fiscal year (Q3/FY25). Nintendo will also take into account the domestic situation; the Japanese market is experiencing rising inflation, which has affected currency exchange rates throughout the Nintendo Switch’s tenure on the market.

What will happen? We will have to wait for the price, although they promise that the stock will be speculator-proof. Furukawa admits that they are preparing measures so that the units available on the first day will not be affected by those who want to market them. For now, we will have to continue with the long wait until April 2nd.
