The actress rules out a return as Sofia Gigante in Matt Reeves’ sequel, though she admits she would return to the Gotham universe without hesitation.

Update:

Robert Pattinson and the cast are wrapping up filming in Glasgow for ‘The Batman II,’ the sequel to the 2022 film, and, surprisingly, we won’t see many characters from that movie return. Colin Farrell will be back as the Penguin, albeit in a cameo role, though many fans are wondering about the presence of the breakout star from the series starring the Irish actor, which is available on HBO Max. Will Cristin Milioti, who played the powerful Sofia Falcone—later Sofia Gigante—be in the film? The actress has spoken and made her decision clear.

“There’s not a chance you’ll see me in it, sadly,” the New Jersey actress told ComicBookMovie. “But I wait. You know, I would go back to that world in a heartbeat.”

Milioti was asked about this issue even though Matt Reeves, the film’s director, had already said a few months ago that she would not be in the movie. However, some fans were still skeptical after Sofia Gigante’s increasingly prominent role in ‘The Penguin’. The series will not have a second season, and viewers fear that the story of Gotham’s new queen of organized crime will remain unfinished.

It doesn’t necessarily have to be that way, since Reeves himself hasn’t ruled out the possibility of more spin-offs set in the ‘The Batman’ universe in the future. “I think the idea of being able to shine a light on these characters is a really exciting one,” he said a couple of years ago. “It’s about cities and their dysfunction, and the world and its dysfunction—which is what Batman stories are all about. It’s about Gotham being a place that should be better.”

Who will Sebastian Stan play in ‘The Batman II’?

Meanwhile, there has been a stir in recent hours surrounding Sebastian Stan’s character, as a French media outlet attributed statements to the Romanian-born actor that he never actually made. “I can’t say anything about ‘The Batman II,’ in which I play Harvey Dent,” the French outlet claimed—something Stan has not said. This only adds to the already swirling rumors about his role; while Dent hasn’t been ruled out, all signs point to him playing one of the Batverse’s greatest psychopaths: Victor Zsasz.

‘The Batman II’ will be released on February 18, 2028, following the latest officially announced delay. This postponement has sparked further rumors (there are nothing but rumors surrounding this movie) that the third installment is not only confirmed but is also being filmed simultaneously with this second one.
