The Star Wars Lando series is still happening, reveals Donald Glover
Donald Glover, who played the younger version of Lando Calrissian in Solo: A Star Wars Story, reveals he’s still in talks to return to the franchise in a Lando series.
Years have passed since Lucasfilm announced its huge battery of projects planned for the future. Since then, some products have gone ahead, but others have remained in limbo: Rangers of the New Republic was canceled and there is no news about Star Wars: Droids. And what about Lando? Speaking to GQ, the interpreter has acknowledged that the talks continue, although he will only participate if it is done well.
“I would love to play Lando again, It’s a fun time being him. It just needs to be the right way to do it.” he said. According to the actor, the health situation in recent years has had the consequence of making people realize the importance of time. “I’m not interested in doing anything that’s just gonna be a waste of my time or just a paycheck. I’d much rather spend time with people that I enjoy”.
“Which I think it could be. Lando is definitely someone I’d like to hang out with. We’re talking about it. It’s the most I can say, you know, without Kathleen Kennedy hunting me down.” As in other successful franchises, the stars of Star Wars sign very strict confidentiality agreements, so it is difficult to know how far the negotiations are.
What’s new at Star Wars Celebration?
Star Wars Celebration in London takes place from Friday the 7th to Monday the 10th of April. New series and movie announcements are expected, but beyond the rumors, no official news has been released. Will it be Lando’s time? In just a few days, we will leave doubts.
Disney+ has become the home of Star Wars. The second season of The Bad Batch has just concluded, while the third season of The Mandalorian keeps going, airing new episodes week after week. From Wednesday, April 5, you can see episode 6 of The Mandalorian.
