The stunning detail of this Pokémon TCG Pocket card taps into fans' nostalgia
The illustration of Spearow’s card in the video game is a tribute to the best era of the series.

Pokémon TCG Pocket began its journey last October with a deck that focused heavily on the nostalgia of the franchise. The original 151 Pokémon led the way in the app as part of the Genetic Apex Collection, the predecessor to the current Mythical Island mini-expansion. Players have noticed that some of the illustrations in the first batch have a special twist. Spearow is a good example of the care Creatures put into the cards.
This is the Pokémon TCG Pocket Card, which is a real treat for fans
The card shows Spearow sitting on the grass in a forest. Two buildings appear in the background, indicating that he is close to civilization. What is an unattractive scenario for less experienced players is also a hint that only the most enthusiastic fans will understand.
Spearow is located right in the tall grass of Kanto’s Route 16. The green building is the one that accompanies the Celadon City shopping mall. It is one of the first areas you will pass through on your journey through Pokémon Red and Blue, the original adventure, the great myth that gave way to the legend of the saga. Spearow’s location is no accident. You have a 30% chance of finding him in this area. The illustration exudes not only passion for the game, but also knowledge of the subject.

In Pokémon TCG Pocket, the card is part of a special mission called “Touring the Kanto Region‚” which features seven Pokémon grouped together with special illustrations of real locations in the game. Jynx, for example, can be seen in front of the house where you can trade for her. It’s a fantastic twist that adds value to the artists’ work.
