The Witcher Season 3 gets a release date on Netflix and its first trailer
The final season of Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia in Netflix’s The Witcher finally gets a release date, with a trailer revealing it’ll launch in two volumes.
Below these lines, and fresh out of the oven, you’ll find the first trailer for season 3 of The Witcher, in which Henry Cavill will say goodbye to the role of Geralt of Rivia. And be careful because it seems like we are facing a farewell to match. In addition to the video, Netflix has shared the release dates of the series, which will come in two parts (or volumes), just as they have been doing with all of their big releases since Stranger Things.
The first volume of The Witcher Season 3 will arrive on June 29 and the second part will land a month later, on July 27, when it is sure to be on everyone’s minds. In addition, Netflix has also posted a poster for the new season with the slogan of these chapters: “Family’s worth fighting for”.
Why did Henry Cavill leave The Witcher?
At first, everyone thought that Cavill was leaving The Witcher because of his possible return to the DC Universe as Superman. Rumors talked about scheduling issues and we all accepted the idea. But since said movement was cancelled, why was he not allowed to return? Did Netflix refuse just to prove a point?
Or perhaps it was that the reason was always another. Maybe Cavill had taken to heart the mockery of the writing team towards the novels of Andrzej Sapkowski and CD Projekt video games. The little respect for the original material, which he always loved, could have led him to get off the project and embark on a new adventure based on his other passion, a series based on the Warhammer 40k universe.
The only statements of the actor in this regard were the following:
“My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with monsters and adventure, but I’m leaving my medallion and my swords for season 4. The fantastic Liam Hemsworth will take over as the new White Wolf.”
How many will get off the ship with him because of his departure?
