These are Hollywood’s 25 top paid actors of 2022 and 2023

Variety magazine has just published a list of the 25 highest-paid actors in Hollywood in 2022 and has once again shown how fast the world of cinema changes. The post-pandemic crisis is behind us and we are facing some of the highest salaries of the decade, among which, curiously, we found no trace of marvel. The superhero bubble seems to have burst, at least as far as the Stan Lee factory is concerned, since from DC Comics we do find four actors and films present: Dwayne Johnson for Black Adam, Tom Hardy for Venom 3, Joaquin Phoenix for Joker 2: Folie a Deux, and Jason Momoa for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Many of the films present are yet to be released and will arrive in the coming months, but Tom Cruise is in the lead thanks precisely to one that has already come out. The actor has skyrocketed his income thanks to that peculiar clause that he always puts in his contracts and according to which a percentage of ticket sales is guaranteed. Taking into account the numbers of Top Gun: Maverick, already between the 50 films grossing more than 1 billion at the box office, you can imagine. On the other hand, to see the highest-paid actress we have to go down to position 18, where we find Margot Robbie tied with her co-stars for Barbie. Apart from her, there are only four other names: Millie Bobby Brown, Emily Blunt, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Anya-Taylor Joy.

With Marvel out of the list due to a lackluster Phase 4, the studio war is being fought by streaming platforms and services. Apple has thrown everything out the window and now its two biggest payouts are for Will Smith and Leonardo DiCaprio, both in the top 3. Netflix has done the same for Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds for Spirited, as well as Chris Hemsworth’s return as Tyler Rake in Extraction 2 this summer.
