This was Keanu Reeves’ most awkward sex scene: with Ana de Armas and the wife of the director of this film
Eli Roth directed in 2015 the erotic thriller ‘Knock Knock’ in which its three protagonists engage in an explicit threesome.

Keanu Reeves is world-famous for two key roles in his career: Neo in ‘The Matrix’ and John Wick in the saga of the same name. However, the actor of Lebanese origin and Canadian nationality has starred in many other films of very different genres, from Prince Siddhartha in ‘Little Buddha’ to a demon hunter in ‘Constantine‘. But he has also had time to appear in the occasional sexually charged erotic thriller, such as the 2015 film ‘Knock Knock’ directed by Eli Roth, a film in which he had the most awkward sex scene of his career: a threesome with Ana de Armas and Lorenza Izzo, the latter, the director’s wife at the time.
Keanu Reeves and his most awkward threesome in the movies
In the film, Keanu plays a man who is left home alone when his wife and children go on a trip and is seduced by two mysterious young women played by Lorenza Izzo and Ana de Armas who come knocking on his door, before being drawn into a deadly game of cat and mouse when they both turn on him. During the plot, Keanu’s character is drawn into a threesome with the two women, with the ‘Matrix’ star claiming that it was somewhat awkward filming the scenes with Lorenza, given that her then-husband Eli Roth was directing the scene and the entire film.
This was explained by the actor during his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, when Keanu Reeves responded to the question if he found the filming scenes uncomfortable, Keanu said: “Not for me Jimmy”, in a joking tone. The actor acknowledged that the situation was “weird,” but worked with Eli to try to ease the external tension during filming.
“Eli created a great situation of trust and rehearsals, but eventually you have to get naked and simulate and do...,” Keanu Reeves explained. Mimicking a sinister voice, he added, “I wasn’t that guy who was like, ‘Hey Eli your wife is hot’...you know like every day like, ‘I can’t wait for this sex scene, Lorenza looks amazing today‘,” the famous actor went on to explain.

Through it all, Keanu thanked director Eli and the film’s producers for their support during the awkward moments of filming. Eli Roth himself also seemed to see the funny side of such a strange situation, and was very confident about surprising audiences with such a daring scene, saying while promoting the film in 2015, “Oh my God, I didn’t expect it to get to that point at all,” with a chuckle. Be that as it may, Eli and Lorenza divorced in 2019 after five years of marriage.
‘Knock Knock’ can be seen in the United States through platforms such as Fubo or Prime Video.
