‘John Wick 5′ now official, but no word yet on whether Keanu Reeves will return
A Lionsgate executive confirms ‘John Wick 5′, but the big question is whether Keanu Reeves will return, given the ending of the fourth film.

Lionsgate has confirmed ‘John Wick 5′, but the big unknown remains whether Keanu Reeves will return as the iconic assassin. The deliberately ambiguous ending of ‘John Wick 4′ not only wrapped up the story in a satisfying way, but also left the character’s fate up in the air by hinting at his possible death, leaving many in doubt as to how the story will continue. For now, the only certainty is that Reeves’ next appearance as Baba Yaga will be in the spin-off ‘Ballerina,’ leaving the future of the main ‘John Wick’ saga a mystery.
Lionsgate exec confirms ‘John Wick 5′, but will Keanu Reeves return?
During a special ‘John Wick’ event in Las Vegas, Jenefer Brown, Executive Vice President and Head of Global Product and Experiences at Lionsgate, confirmed that the franchise will move forward with a fifth installment, as reported by ComicBook. “This world continues to grow and expand in incredible ways,” Brown said, making it clear that the saga still has a lot to offer. But the real bombshell came next: “We’ve shared that we’re developing a fifth John Wick film… [John Wick] may be [dead]. We are all on baited breath waiting to find out.” However, he avoided giving any details about the direction the story will take and especially whether Keanu Reeves will return to play the deadly assassin, especially after the denouement of the fourth installment.

For now, Reeves' next appearance as John Wick will be in ‘Ballerina’, the first cinematic spin-off of the saga, which will be released on June 6. In that film, which stars Ana de Armas, the actor will reprise the role of Baba Yaga, although his involvement will not conflict with the events of ‘John Wick 4′, as the story takes place between the third and fourth installments. This means that while Reeves will return to the big screen in the John Wick universe, his fate beyond the end of the fourth film remains the great unknown of the franchise.
