Tired of waiting for GTA VI, one user has begun what some are calling a remake
One user has set out to recreate as much of Grand Theft Auto VI’s Vice City as possible using the power of Google Maps.
The wait for Grand Theft Auto 6 is getting longer and longer. It’s been almost a year since the premiere of the first trailer and since then Rockstar Games has returned to its hermeticism in terms of more information related to the game. The community is beginning to get desperate for a title that has been waiting for years, and while some have been given the task of predicting what the game map will look like, other users are trying to start recreating what they have seen.
Tired of waiting, a modder known as RickRick, ricksef on Reddit, has taken matters into his own hands and decided to recreate Vice City from the buildings seen in the first trailer. His project uses Google Maps photogrammetry to replicate the design of certain buildings inspired by the real city of Miami. Not only does his project pay homage to the city, but it also provides a glimpse into the possible size and layout of the map in the new title. However, RickRick admits that he will not be able to recreate 100% of this GTA, as the basic material to do so is scarce at best.
A remake of the map before GTA 6
It already seems like a meme, but the wait for GTA 6 has caused people to see how new products appear, many of them unexpected, before the release of this game. One of the users on Reddit commented, “We got GTA 6 3D map remakes before GTA 6,” to which another user replied, “They just found a new book by Bram Stoker. The guy who wrote Dracula. A guy who has been dead for 112 years came out with a new book before we get GTA 6″. What else will we see come out before the arrival of GTA 6?
For now, we can only wait for Rockstar Games to release more updates related to the game, or just keep counting the days until we have a definitive release date, which will be in the fall 2025 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5.
