Tom Holland hints at Spider-Man’s role in Avengers: Doomsday and Secret Wars while Marvel keeps him in the dark

During the ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ press tour, the actor strongly implies Peter Parker will return for Marvel’s next crossover events.

Update:

Tom Holland is known for being one of those actors who has a reputation for spoiling plot points and speaking out of turn. And while ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has been shrouded in secrecy regarding its plot and even its cast, the question remains whether Spider-Man will be part of the upcoming films. During the press tour for ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day,’ Tom Holland was asked directly about his involvement in the upcoming ensemble films. While carefully avoiding explicit spoilers, the actor strongly implied that Spider-Man will indeed be part of Marvel’s next major crossover events.

Holland spoke to Cinemania about this, saying that he simply doesn’t know, since Marvel avoids giving him “the juicy details.” “I don’t know a lot about those movies—I think by design,” Holland began. “I have a reputation for spoiling certain things, and I think the studios are keeping me from the juicy details. But when I do get to step onto that set, I’m so curious—you know, what does that mean for Peter? And how does that work? I’m very excited about… whatever it is they’re doing.” Despite the lack of concrete details, Holland hinted that he expects to join Avengers-related productions at some point this year, effectively confirming Spider-Man’s involvement without a formal announcement.

The Future of Spider-Man in the MCU

While we don’t yet know if Spider-Man will appear in any of the upcoming Avengers movies, his next film is scheduled for release on July 31. Just this week, we got a glimpse of its highly anticipated trailer, which completely changes the tone and what we can expect from ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’. Along with this, we also received a new synopsis of the film, which reads as follows:

“It’s a Brand New Day for Peter Parker. Fighting crime full-time as Spider-Man in a world that doesn’t remember him — and the pressure of seeing his old friends move on without him — sparks a change in Peter he may not have the power to control. But that transformation might also be the only thing that can stop a shocking new threat to the city and those he loves — a powerful villain no one can even see. The world may have forgotten Peter Parker, but he hasn’t forgotten them.”
