Tommy Shelby returns in first trailer for Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man
Set during World War II, the film continues the story of the Peaky Blinders after the series finale.

It has been a long time since Peaky Blinders ended its run on television, but its impact continues to be felt. This lasting popularity led to plans for a feature film that would bring Cillian Murphy back in his iconic role as Tommy Shelby. And today feels like an early Christmas for fans, as we finally get our first glimpse of Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man with a trailer that you can watch below:
Returning to Birmingham
The sequel, which serves as a continuation of the hit crime drama series, takes us back to World War II and Tommy Shelby’s return to “face his demons,” according to the film’s official synopsis: “Birmingham, 1940. Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet. With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons, and choose whether to confront his legacy, or burn it to the ground. By order of the Peaky Blinders...”
“It seems like Tommy Shelby wasn’t finished with me,” Murphy told Netflix. “It is very gratifying to be re-collaborating with Steven Knight and Tom Harper on the film version of Peaky Blinders. This is one for the fans.”
In addition to Cillian Murphy, the film’s cast includes Sophie Dungle, Ada Throne, Stephen Graham, Ned Dennehy, Rebecca Ferguson, Barry Keoghan, Tim Roth, and Jay Lycurgo. The film is directed by Tom Harper, who helmed several episodes of the original series, and written by Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders and a writer on the upcoming James Bond film.
