The third entry of the legendary Tron series has finally started filming, after a rough few years of pre-production, and we’ve got our first tease of its blend of digital and physical worlds.

Update:

The strike of Hollywood actors and scriptwriters caused many productions to be in danger, and after a long time without knowing anything about it, ‘Tron 3′ has confirmed that its production has finally begun. The director of the new installment of the saga is Joachim Ronning, who has directed films such as ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales’ and ‘Kon-Tiki’. The director himself has shared the first image of the shoot, a photo in which we can see a production chair with the film’s logo: ‘TR3N’.

Who will be part of ‘Tron 3′? Joachim Ronning tagged Jared Leto in the photo, so it is assumed that the multifaceted artist will star in the film. Other notable actors such as Evan Peters, Greta Lee, and Cameron Monaghan will appear in the film. Regarding those who participated in the original work and its sequel, it is unknown if they will be involved with this third part.

The return of ‘Tron’, a legendary work of enormous impact

‘Tron’ took us to the future, a virtual world, a kind of metaverse that merged physical reality with the digital, in which the color blue stands above all. That is why the promotional image of the third installment gives food for thought, and that is because red is everywhere, a change in the franchise that aims to surprise us.

A mythical saga that will return many years after the second installment, a notable parenthesis that already seems a regular feature within the franchise. The original film, directed by Steven Lisberger and starring Jeff Bridges, was released in 1982, while its sequel, ‘Tron: Legacy’, premiered in 2010 and was directed by Joseph Kosinski and once again featured Jeff Bridges and other figures such as Olivia Wilde in the cast. It won’t be as much time as between the first and second installment, but almost 15 years have passed since the premiere of ‘Tron: Legacy’
